What is so special about 8th March? Nothing much, just a regular working day… same routines, etc. (Hehehe)Okay! Okay! I know it’s your day, LOVELY LADIES! Yes, 8th March is declared as an International Women’s Day. Congratulations and hats off to all the ladies out there in the world for their work, all sort of dedication towards every aspect of life. Mother, sister, girlfriend, wife, friend, worker, etc. are really doing their job so nicely that there might not be a sunrise without them.
Actually it is International working women’s day. The first national women’s day was seen on 28th February 1909 in United States. Then after different dates/days were seen for the celebration of women’s day in different countries. Somewhere it’s a public holiday, somewhere it’s half day off for women and some treat it like a day for men to express their feelings towards women i.e. to mother, sister, wife, friend and/or colleagues.
Since ancient times, women are always seen in varied roles like goddess, angels, warriors, performers, care taker, house managers, etc. in all the stages and areas of life. They all are worshiped and considered as saviors for everyone. They got many personalities in them. If you can see women as Mother Mary or any other goddess form, you can also see them as mighty warrior to save people around her. There is a special dialogue said by most women (specially to male): “Watch it! You have just seen my love and I hope you don’t see my hatred ever!”
Recently one of my blog reader lady posted on facebook:
“Male (Father, Son, Husband, Uncle, Nephew) thinks that only he is working and always tell woman (Mother, Daughter, Wife, Aunt, Niece) that you do that work because you don’t go to work”. It was like, wake up in morning and order wife to make breakfast quickly because you don’t go to work. Get kids ready for school because you don’t go to work. Clean whole house because you don’t go to work. Do laundry work because you don’t got to work. Till night these things go on and on and again in the end she will only hear that switch off the lights because you don’t go to work.” I will say, any man who thinks that a woman is not working, please switch your role with your mother or wife for a couple of days and ENJOY NOT WORKING!
The day is an official holiday in Afghanistan, Angola, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, China (for women only), Cuba, Georgia, Guinea-Bissau, Eritrea, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Macedonia (for women only), Madagascar (for women only), Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Nepal (for women only), Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and Zambia.
In some countries, such as Cameroon, Croatia, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Bulgaria and Chile, the day is not a public holiday, but is widely observed nonetheless. On this day it is customary for men to give the women in their lives – mothers, wives, girlfriends, daughters, colleagues, etc. – flowers and small gifts. In some countries (such as Bulgaria and Romania) it is also observed as an equivalent of Mother’s Day, where children also give small presents to their mothers and grandmothers.
There are many beautiful quotes said by great people. Let’s have a look on some of them.
If women didn’t exist, all the money in the world would have no meaning. – Aristotle Onassis
A free race cannot be born of slave mothers. – Margaret Sanger
I really don’t think I need buns of steel. I’d be happy with buns of cinnamon. – Ellen DeGeneres
You can do almost anything,
you put your mind to…
You can swim the deepest ocean,
and climb the highest peak,
Fly a plane or be a doctor,
A scientist or a militant,
You are strong, beautiful,
compassionate and much more than words could ever say.
Today is your and so is ever other day.
You are so SPECIAL ‘N’ RESPECTED FOREVER!
Nothing much to say as we all know in our heart that how much special these women are. Respect them, love them and take GOOD care.
Love you all ladies. Salute! God bless you all!
